Goals for Lessons

Music students at school

Bartine Music Studio students at school

My goal is to instill a love of music in each student and to enable them to develop their maximum musical potential.  Confidence and capability is built through sound technical grounding in a program designed to meet each student’s needs.  Repertoire is appropriate to the student’s level of proficiency, and study includes a balance of musical skills including theory, computer technology, interpretation and performance.

Students are encouraged to participate in programs that further goals of musical attainment and enjoyment, such as competitions, festivals and adjudication through the National Guild of Piano Teachers, National Association of Teachers of Singing, and the Music Teachers National Association.  Studio recitals and other performance opportunities are available throughout the year and are offered for the benefit of students.

Traditional and Suzuki methods are offered.  Suzuki piano is available to beginners from the ages of four to six whose parents are willing to be actively involved in the learning process.
